Programs
Hydrostone Academy offers an enriched curriculum in Grades Pre-Primary through to Grade 12. With approximately 150 students, we are committed to small, intimate classes that allow for significant one-on-one interaction between students and teachers. We prioritize the physical, mental, and emotional safety of the students, and recognize that supportive learning environments foster the development of compassionate and self-aware community members.
Pre-Primary
Imagine a place free from clutter, filled with natural light and beautiful materials for children to explore. The daily routine works in harmony with seasonal rhythms. Stories, songs, verses and activities enrich the experience of the seasons.

Primary
Young children are very open and receptive to the world around them. Imaginative play and imitation are the gifts of the Primary (Kindergarten) child as they seek to emulate the world around them, and learn by bringing everything into their play. The Primary curriculum utilizes these gifts of imagination and imitation. Our week is filled with movement, song, story, painting, beeswax modelling, play both in and outside, as we explore and question the world around us.

Elementary
The elementary school curriculum integrates the skill-mastery techniques of traditional Western education, with a program rich in art, story-telling, outdoor & nature-based learning, community-building activities, and culturally sustaining curriculum. [ more… ]
Middle School
The study encourages scientific reasoning, discoveries and inventions. Great teachers and well-equipped laboratories help students explore, discover and experiment new things under the best supervision.

High School
Atlantic Canada’s only liberal arts high school program, classes rely on approaches similar to the Oxford tutorial model, providing students with the opportunity to pursue in-depth discussions about the subject matter and receive individual feedback on their work. Graduates are not only well prepared for University, but also well prepared for life.
