Summer Camps

Give your children an unforgettable summer of learning and adventure from June 16 to August 1, 2025! Our diverse camps cater to all age groups, from Pre-Primary to Grade 12, with engaging programs including Musical Theatre, Pokémon, French Language, Dungeons & Dragons, Science, Mathematics, and more. Little Adventurers (Pre-Primary and Primary) will enjoy structured days filled with creative play and outdoor exploration, while older students can dive deep into their interests with specialized camps like LEGO Robotics, Clay Arts, and Trading Card Games. Each camp runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with experienced instructors guiding students through hands-on activities that balance education and entertainment. We also offer a Leaders in Training program for students in Grades 7-12 who want to develop leadership skills while working with younger campers.

Registration Deadline: Camps will close for registration at 12 PM on the Friday before the session begins. Please complete your booking before this deadline.

Little Adventures Camp

Little Adventures (Pre-Primary & Primary)

Our Littles Camp is designed for students enrolled in Pre-Primary or Primary. The camp follows a similar rhythm to a regular school day, with circle time, snack and lunch breaks, creative play opportunities, and lots of outdoor time.

Please note that campers will be responsible for bringing their own snacks, lunch, and water bottle. Camps run Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. We’re excited for a fun and enriching summer experience!

Musical Theatre Camp

Musical Theatre Camp (Grades 1-4)

This camp is perfect for young performers who love to sing, dance, and act! Throughout the week, campers will work together to develop their stage presence and performance skills as they rehearse for a fun musical showcase. Activities will include vocal exercises, choreography, character development, and set design. The week culminates in a special performance on Friday, June 20th, from 3:30-4:30 PM, where families can celebrate their child’s achievements!

A Week of Creativity, Storytelling, and Fun! Calling all young heroes! Step into a world of magic, adventure, and imagination at our Dungeons & Dragons Camp designed especially for elementary-age kids. This beginner-friendly camp is the perfect way to learn how to play D&D, create unique characters, and dive into exciting, age-appropriate adventures! 🎲 What’s in Store? 🧙 Learn How to Play D&D – Campers will be guided through the basics of the game in a fun and easy-to-understand way. They’ll discover how to roll dice, make choices, and work together to tell an amazing story! 🎭 Create Your Own Character – Will they be a brave knight, a clever wizard, or a sneaky rogue? Campers will design their own characters, choosing special abilities, personalities, and backstories to bring them to life. 📖 Storytelling & Imagination – Through role-playing, acting, and creative writing, kids will help shape the adventure, solving problems and making choices that affect the story. ⚔️ Mini-Quests & Fun Challenges – Each day will feature new quests, puzzles, and adventures tailored for young players, encouraging teamwork and problem-solving. 🌳 Outdoor Play & Exploration – In between epic battles and daring escapes, campers will enjoy time outside, including trips to the Needham and George Dixson Parks! This camp is perfect for kids who love fantasy, storytelling, and working together. Whether they’re brand new to D&D or already love adventure, this week will spark creativity and bring their imaginations to life!

Pokémon Adventure Camp

Pokémon Adventure Camp (Grades 1-5)

Pokémon lovers unite for an exciting week filled with creative and active Pokémon-themed activities! Mornings will include crafting Poké Balls, designing unique Pokémon, and participating in Pokémon battles. Afternoons will feature outdoor adventures inspired by Pokémon Go, including bike rides, gym battles, and scavenger hunts. Campers will build teamwork skills and enjoy the perfect mix of indoor and outdoor fun!

Pokémon Summer Camp

Pokémon Summer Camp (Grades 1-4)

Calling all Pokémon trainers! This camp is designed for children who love the Pokémon universe. Campers will learn the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), practice strategy and fair trading, and participate in friendly battles. They will also get creative with Pokémon-themed crafts, design their own Pokémon cards, and explore the science behind real-life animal adaptations. Outdoor play and adventures at Needham Park will add an active element to the fun!

Science Camp

Science Camp (Grades 6-12)

Science Explores Nature & Me. Campers will dive into exciting scientific experiments and discoveries, exploring chemistry, biology, and environmental science. Activities will include hands-on experiments, nature-based investigations, and discussions about climate change, sustainability, and human biology. Perfect for curious minds who love to ask “why” and “how”!

Theatre Camp

Theatre Camp (Grades 1-4)

Step into a world of imagination and creativity with The Enchanted Forest Adventure! Campers will engage in dramatic storytelling, character creation, costume-making, and prop-building as they bring a magical world to life. Through engaging theatre games and guided improvisation, children will develop their confidence and teamwork skills. The week will end with a short play for family and friends, showcasing their hard work and creativity.

French Summer Camp

French Summer Camp (Grades 1-4)

This interactive French camp introduces children to the language through fun and engaging activities. Each day focuses on a different theme—cinema, music, sports, cuisine, and art—allowing campers to experience French culture through games, crafts, cooking, and storytelling. No prior French knowledge is required, making it a welcoming environment for all levels of learners.

LEGO Robotics & Maker Space Camp

LEGO Robotics & Maker Space Camp (Grades 5-8)

A hands-on week of innovation and problem-solving! Campers will build and program LEGO robots, tackle engineering challenges, experiment with 3D printing, and bring their creative ideas to life in a collaborative maker space. No prior robotics experience is needed—just a curiosity for technology and a love for building. Outdoor adventures at the Oval and Commons Pool will provide an active break from the tech-focused fun!

Rock Camp

Rock Camp (Grades 5-9)

Join us for a week of music, creativity, and empowerment at Rock Camp! Open to girls, non-binary, and gender-fluid youth in grades 5-9, this camp is a space to build confidence, collaborate with others, and make some noise. Campers will form bands, learn to play instruments (no experience needed!), write their own songs, and perform by the end of the week. Alongside music sessions, we’ll spend time outdoors, engage in creative activities, and explore what it means to express yourself through music.

Disney Magic & Lorcana

Disney Magic & Lorcana (Grades 1-5)

Disney Magic & Lorcana Camp A Week of Adventure, Imagination, and Strategy! Step into the enchanting world of Disney at our Disney Magic & Lorcana Camp! This week is all about celebrating our favourite Disney characters, stories, and games through dress-up, crafts, and the exciting Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game! ✨ What’s in Store? 🃏 Learn to Play Lorcana – Campers will discover the magic of Lorcana, where they’ll summon beloved Disney characters to compete for Lore and victory! With endless deck-building possibilities, they’ll experiment with strategies, game mechanics, and creative problem-solving. 🎭 Dress as Your Favorite Disney Character – Every camper can step into the shoes of their favorite Disney hero or villain! Whether it’s Mickey, Moana, Elsa, or Buzz Lightyear, dressing up makes the magic come to life. 🎨 Disney-Themed Crafts & Activities – Campers will create their own magical crafts inspired by their favorite Disney movies, bringing imagination and creativity into the mix. Outdoor Adventures – In between magical moments, campers will enjoy outdoor play, including trips to the Needham and George Dixson Parks. Perfect for Disney fans, aspiring strategists, and young adventurers, this camp is filled with fun, learning, and a touch of pixie dust!

Clay and Creativity Camp

Clay and Creativity Camp (Grades 6-12)

This camp explores the ancient medium of working with clay. Campers will explore clay through hand-building techniques including pinching, coiling and slabbing, engage in outdoor activities such as pit firing, and campers can try their hand at throwing on the potter wheel. All students would get their finished pieces in September to allow for drying time.

Math Camp

Math Camp (Grades 6-12)

Math in Motion: Adventures in Numbers, Nature, and Tech. Campers will discover the beauty of math through hands-on exploration, games, and outdoor activities. From Fibonacci spirals in nature to coding puzzles and escape-room challenges, this camp makes math interactive and exciting. Whether your child loves math or struggles with it, this camp fosters curiosity and confidence in a supportive environment.

Science Camp

Collage & Found Object Art Camp

Collage & Found Object Art Camp (Grades 5-12)

This camp is for young artists who love to experiment with different materials. Campers will explore mixed media collages with Rhonda from Cuts & Paste Gallery and create unique assemblage sculptures with found objects guided by sculptor Kevin MacLean. Throughout the week, they will develop artistic techniques, express their creativity, and learn about famous collage and assemblage artists.

Leaders in Training (LIT) Opportunity for Summer Camps

This summer, we are excited to offer a Leaders in Training (LIT) program for older students who want to develop leadership skills and gain hands-on experience working with younger children. This is a great opportunity for students to build confidence, take on responsibility, and develop important skills like teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

Why be a Leader in Training?

  • Gain leadership experience in a fun, supportive environment
  • Learn how to engage younger children in activities
  • Build skills that look great on future job and volunteer applications
  • Earn community involvement hours (if applicable)
  • Be a role model for younger campers

Who can apply?
Students entering Grades 7-12 who are responsible, enthusiastic, and enjoy working with younger children. LITs will assist in camps for Pre-Primary, Primary, and Grades 1-4 only.

How to apply:
If you’re interested in becoming a Leader in Training, send an email explaining why you’re interested and why you think you’d be a great fit for the role. This is an unpaid, volunteer opportunity designed to give students real leadership experience in a fun and engaging setting.

  • Food & Allergies: Students should bring their own snacks and lunches. Hydrostone Academy’s camps are NUT FREE to ensure a safe environment for all participants.
  • Age Guidelines: Our age requirements are meant to be guidelines, and we trust that parents and guardians know their children best. For example, if your child loves Dungeons & Dragons and wants to spend the week in a campaign, but they will be in Grade 10 in September but the camp is intended for grades 5-8, that’s no problem—feel free to register! However, if you’re trying to register a student for a camp where the content or activity level may not be a good fit for their age, we encourage you to reach out and discuss the best placement for them.
  • Privacy: Hydrostone Academy is the sole owner of the information collected during registration. We do not sell, share, or rent this information to others.
  • Liability: Hydrostone Academy is not responsible for accidents or injuries occurring during classes or on our premises. Parents/guardians are financially responsible for any damage caused by their child to the building.
  • Class Minimums & Cancellations: Some camps require a minimum number of registrations to run. If a camp does not meet the required number, it may be cancelled, and you will be notified.
  • Refund Policy:
    • All camps include a $40 administrative fee, which is non-refundable.
    • If a withdrawal request is received more than two weeks before the camp start date, a refund will be issued minus the $40 administrative fee.
    • If a withdrawal request is received less than two weeks before the camp start date, a 50% refund (minus the $40 administrative fee) will be provided.
    • No refunds will be issued on or after the first day of camp.
