Admissions at Hydrostone Academy

We believe that finding the right school is an important journey, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. Our admissions process is designed to ensure that Hydrostone Academy is the best fit for your child and family.

What to expect:

  • A conversation with a member of our team to learn more about our approach and answer your questions.
  • A guided tour of our school to experience our vibrant learning environment.
  • An invitation to submit an application along with any required supporting materials.
  • A classroom visit for your child, giving them a chance to experience a day at Hydrostone Academy (the length of the visit varies based on age).
  • A thoughtful review by our admissions team, followed by a decision regarding acceptance.

Once accepted, you’ll have two weeks to finalize your enrollment. We look forward to welcoming you to our community!

Tuition and other fees 2025/2026

  • Pre-Primary Tuition (includes meal plan): $14,750
    • Tuition: $12,850
    • Meal Plan: $1,900
  • Primary: $13,700
  • Grades 1-5: $13,950
  • Grades 6-9: $15,250
  • Grades 10-12: $16,000

Facility Renewal Fee

Each family attending Shambhala School pays an annual Facilities Renewal Fee (FRF):

  • $500 per family
  • $250 if the oldest child is only in Pre-Primary

This fee helps address necessary repairs to our historic building and grounds, such as masonry, roofing, and painting.

Commencement Fee

Families whose oldest child is entering Primary pay a one-time, non-refundable commencement fee of $1,000.

Discounts

  • Early Payment Discount: Families are eligible for a $1,000 discount for the first child and $500 for each additional child if tuition is paid in full by:
    • March 31st for re-enrollments
    • Within 14 days of acceptance for new enrollments, up to and including June 30th.
  • Sibling Discount: 5% discount for the second child; 10% discount for the third and subsequent children.
  • Enroll a Friend Incentive: A $500 tuition incentive is offered for each new student who registers based on your recommendation.

Tuition Assistance

  • Pre-Primary: Tuition assistance is not applicable for the Pre-Primary program. Families may, however, apply for a provincial subsidy.
  • Primary to Grade 12: Tuition assistance is available to families demonstrating financial need. Requests must be made annually and are evaluated based on the family’s financial circumstances, their offer of non-financial support to the school, and the school’s capacity.

Families must indicate their intent to apply for tuition assistance on the Re-enrollment Questionnaire by February 20th. Follow-up communications will provide further details and deadlines.

Deposit

A non-refundable deposit is required within 14 days of acceptance to secure enrollment. The deposit equals 1/11th of the total tuition per student:

  • Pre-Primary Deposit: $1,350
  • Primary: $1,278
  • Grades 1-5: $1,300
  • Grades 6-9: $1,418
  • Grades 10-12: $1,485

Monthly Payments

Re-enrollment is not considered complete until arrangements are in place for pre-authorized monthly payments. These payments are drawn on the 10th of each month for 10 months beginning in August 2025 and concluding in May 2026 . The formula for monthly payments is:
Annual tuition + FRF, commencement and EAL fees (as applicable) – sibling or other discounts – deposit.

Tax Receipts

Tax receipts will be issued for the full value of Pre-Primary tuition. For other grades, eligible portions of tuition may be claimed. Details will be provided upon request.
